Bought a new dell with 8.0 windows. Felt like a cheap computer and it is. After opening and closing as normal a small crack developed at the microphone hole. As time went on the crack got worse. I called dell support. After talking with several people ( who by the way struggled with English ) It was determined that the unit was out of warranty. 60 days old and you're on your own. Lesson... Called Dell before I sent in the laptop. One CS rep stated she personally would follow my repair from start to finish (she did not do this). Laptop was sent back-- all my research (5 years of PhD) and all my software etc. lost as Dell told me I did not have to back up to replace a fan. I have OfficeMax store credit more than $600.00 and I want laptop .every time I going office max store his say I don't have in stock . And don't have wear house and not any store . First of all I am not one to complain especially online but DELL has truly pissed me off. I ordered a laptop for my son to take to college and was trying to use a $79.00 promotional gift card. My I660 worked fine for 10 months and then began to crash repeatedly. Dell was decent for a few years, so I bought a new laptop last January. About a month ago it stopped charging. I got my Dell computer last year it has not worked right since I got it parts sent back and forth from Dell that still don't work my warranty is about to run out and the computer is still not working so now I have to send my computer back in again they don't want to give me an extended warranty because they know the computer is faulty so they know its going to break down again so I'm trying to... dell is billing me for payment of an invoice. I have a Dell Preferred account and when I ordered I instructed them to charge to that account. I have now made 14 separate phone calls to Dell and spent in excess of 2 hours on the phone worth no resolution. Seems pretty simple to me.
