LOGGING IN TO SEE MY ACCOUNT

Everytime I try to log in with my account number the message I get is that is not a valid number. I took the number off of my lay-a-way receipt for my DELL laptop computer. I send my payments in time so please help me. I am paying in good faith that I will have the computer. Please let me know what is going on. I don't want to try to buy anything else until I see how you handle this and how fast you guys send out the merchandise. Thank you very much. Debra Sue Casey

DELL CUSTOMER SERVICES - not enough words!!!

PLEASE could anyone pass onto me a BRITISH senior staff member who might actually take notice of a complaint??? I have been corresponding with their customer services dept (obviously based overseas) and am getting absolutely nowhere. It would help if any of the assistants understood English and could respond to e-mails in understandable English.......... I've had my laptop for 5 months and it keeps freezing up. I spent 2 days following instructions from a very pleasant and obviously informed Asian gentleman but as nothing seemed to rectify the problem he arranged a mutually convenient date for couriers to pick up my system from home to take in for repair. I took a day off work, waited in all day but the couriers didn't arrive. Since then I have been rung by people I cannot understand, asking me to ring them back on a 0870 number. This is a voicemail, they don't ring back. I am getting near the edge and just want my laptop sorting!!! I have been demanding the name & address of a British complaints dept but it appears to be either non-existent or secret. PLEASE HELP SOMEONE!!

I had a similar issue with Toshiba and my "Freezing Laptop". Finally I called my Credit Card company.

I informed them of the situation, and I put a dispute on the charge for the Laptop.

All of a sudden, they were willing to replace my laptop. Try going to your CC company if that is who you used to purchase the laptopn.

Freaking DELL and their Customer Service

I hope these guys will go bankrupt...My story is too long to be written and I think that you will get bored anyhow. Therefore, all I can say is that I spent over 1 week and over 25 e-mails and over 10 h of my time with these INCOMPETENT ppl and they couldn't do ANYTHING about my case. I am returning the item and hopefully I will get my money back! I think I had my lesson with them and the PC world. Apple has an IMPECCABLE customer service and I should have gone first with them. PERIOD

Dell Customer Service - Doesn't Service

Once again, I just got off the phone with Dell TCS in India. They once again said they would send for the computer to fix it. This is now the fouth time. I have had this issue with this NEW computer since i got it on the 14th. Please is there some number, email somthing I can call in the US. I need some help this is costing me lots of money. The Dell people don't understand. In writing this note my computer has gone down 2 times. I received my Inspiron 1720 on March 14th 2008 at 2pm cst. At 4pm cst I was on the phone to Dell technical support. The Problem: Without warning, my computer shuts down and all data is lost. Dell technical Support resolutions: Almost every day From 14th until today I have call Dell technical support. As a result, I have uninstalled the OS three times, remove any and all MS updates, run the machine with and without internet. Also I have changed the power setting, run system hardware checks 4 times and allow each one of the technicians to connect and try their hand at fixing the problem. To know resolution. Dell promises: A Dell manger and/or technician has, promised to (4 times) send a box by DHL in order to bring the computer back to the “depot” , (3) replace the computer, (5) times have a Sr Technician or Exec Management call me. None of these promises happen. In desperation, I offered pay the shipping cost just to get my computer fixed. My request: 1) I would like at this point for Dell to replace this computer. 2) As a IT PM consultant, this is really impacting my job. So my request is that this matter be resulted within the next 5days. 3) I would appreciate a call from Dell with a resolution proposal that they would honor. 4) Last but not least, Dell to ensure that it makes good on any and every promises it makes. I have been a customer of Dell since 96. I based by patronage on the knowledge that , I am only one customer, but I have always trusted Dell to treat me as if I were their only customer. This is why I have recommend Dell products to my customers and have only purchased Dell products for organizations I have managed. However, this situation has left me questioning my decisions

Dell totally unresponsive to online fraud complaints!

On 1/22/08 five unauthorized charges were made to my credit card. One of these was by Dell Computer. My only recourse now is to sue Dell because the are TOTALLY unresponsive to repeated questions about this charge. The ONLY humans I can reach to talk to are in a call center somewhere on the Indian subcontinent, and they claim they can give me no information. I have left my contact information three times for their (supposed) fraud dept. to call be back. Two months, still waiting. The bank which issued the credit card has also been unable to obtain any information from Dell. My advise is.... Buyer beware, Dell doesn't care!

I have a similar situation and Dell Financial Services asked for my social security number. Other Dell numbers I called say they never ask for the social security number.

I was cheated by Dell Financial Services for a part (Laptop Battery) that I ordered in May 2008. The customer service representative asked me to switch over to the Dell Financial Services asked me to open up a credit account to get a better deal.

However, I did not receive the product and was charged for it. Also, I got a letter from Dell stating that I have a problem in my account for which the services have been declined. The Dell debt collection department kept on harassing me to pay back the money owned without spending time with me with respect to find out why I didn't receive the part. They kept on calling me with black calls from India.

Finally, I decided to pay back the amount owned along with the penalty to get rid of Dell. I have been quite surprised to know that I am not unique here.

NY state has filled a case against Dell for cheating customers by not providing them the promised services. I will not buy a product from this company any more.

Dell does not honor their warranty

One week after delivery of a computer from Dell Direct, the hard drive went bad. Dell agreed that it was defective and sent out a technician to install a new hard drive. Nothing has worked correctly since. Dell refuses to refund money or replace the defective computer. I've spent hours talking to people around the world who do not know what they are talking about. They treat me like I'm *** and some are downright nasty. I've got some of the logs from chats with Dell and it's laughable. Their technical personnel act like they are from another planet. I cannot put the computer on standby - it goes into power save mode and cannot be turned on or turned off. Now the case is turned over to someone in India who says he will call me on Sunday and my whole system will be reinstalled - probably by me. I did not pay almost $1000 for a computer to have to reinstall the system and spend hours of my time getting a terrible product to work. I will never purchase another Dell product. Their techical service is a joke and their computers are junk - unlike their computers of the past.

I purchased 5 Dells within the last 3 years. Two of them crashed under warranty and Dell would not fix them. I will NEVER buy another Dell product again.

Dell xps computer fire !

I purchased a Dell xps 200 in 2006. I turned on my computer as I did every morning. I left the room and came back to find that my office was full of smoke. My Dell computer was on fire ! Dell went on to tell me that I didn't have the correct warrenty to cover a fire. I received what I was told would be a new Dell xps 210, but looking at the tags it was built in 2007. So consumer beware, please be sure to unplug your computer when not is use. If I hadn't been home, my house and animals would have been burned up.

Dell Computers

Don't buy a Dell Computer. I recently bought two Dell computers, an Inspiron 1720 and an XPS 1730. They were purchased through a Dell outlet that Dell subsequently closed. Neither computer would shut down after startup. The computers had not been checked for functionality before shipment. The problem was a conflict bteween Trend Micro and Vista software. Dell Technical Support was not able to solve the problem after several days of frustrration in trying to get help. My last contact was the "advanced" Technical Support in Manila. Dell has a closed circuit firewall that perpetually sends you back to Technical Support that is incompetent.

Same thing here. I was approved for $5000 and spent $3000 and have been paying $200/month since then.

never been late or anything and I have real good credit. I have no more credit!

I paid the full price after the voucher and never got the computer and software. called and they don't know where it is. so what do i do now i am out over $300. is there anyone to help me on this problem please e-mail me at nicknpam@***.com. it was for daughter for school. and she is the one really paid for it. school is very importtant to her and she thought it would help her od her school work. I as a mother of 3 kid i really can't just go out and pay for one don't really have the money and wal-mart has no layaway anymore.

ALL of the States in the USA have a "Consumer Frauds" Division of their Attorney General's or State's Attorney's Office in the State Capitol .

Most of these do really good jobs and can be of assistance .....

Perhaps you need to contact your nearest Consumer Frauds Office .

Also; Many newspapers and Television Stations have "Consumer Advocates" Sections /workers ... Contact your local Tv Stations and Newspaper for info ......

Dell Printer

I received a Dell printer without the correct electrical cord. I can't get past the customer service which I assume is in India somewhere. I keep having to go back and forth with customer service who do not even read my e-mails. I get more upset with every response, which has nothing to do with my original request. I expect them to at least read my e-mails to customer service and write a reply that is related to my request for service. I think I have the right to get a printer that includes an electrical cord so it will operate. Is this too much to ask?

Charging me for their mistake

They offered me 12 month SAC financing but then decided not to. I returned the system and they continue to bill me for it. Hours on the phone and 3 times they told me they had fixed the billing errors. Honestly this is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I despise being cheated and lied to. Each time I speak with them they don't have any info on the previous calls and I have to start from scratch. I have given on on actually solving the problem. I am waiting to see what happens to this horrible company.

Dell has intentionally constructed a brain damaging customer “support” obstacle course … - starting with an endless series of phone prompts, - moving on to messages like “sorry our system is down, please call back later” or “we are currently experiencing technical difficulties, please try again later” or “your wait time may exceed 10 minutes”, - of course there are countless deliberate disconnects, - more brain damaging repeated requests for the same information, - mind boggling inter-departmental referrals/finger pointing, - being given other Dell support numbers that don’t work … all adding up to literally days and days and days of frustration .... carefully crafted to make you go insane and stop calling because it is sooo unbelievably difficult and painful to actually resolve anything ... enough to make even the most serene Buddhist Monk go completely postal.

I've owned a number of Dell's. They used to be professional and trustworthy.

Now they're just "too big for their britches".

When this one dies, as I'm certain it soon will, I intend to take it apart in as many pieces as possible, make the 4 hr. drive to Austin, and dump it with the printer and router in the main lobby of Dell Headquarters.

Avoid Dell Computer Financing!!!!!

I purchased a laptop computer from Dell over a year ago. I have been paying the monthly bills on time, and usually even pay over the minimum amount. I also had my warranty extended, which may have led to the following problem: I found out a couple of weeks ago when I got my bill that instead of the usual finance charges of around 4 dollars, that I was now being billed 196.86!!! I called their service rep who told me that I was billed this outrageous amount because my promotion plan had ran out. I thought that the whole reason I began to be billed 4 bucks a month in finance charges in the first place, was because my promo plan had already run out after the first year had ended. But their rep told me that was a separate finance charge for “service calls”!?!? I was never told that I would be getting finance charges for service calls!! and it DOES NOT SAY THIS ON MY BILL!!! Also, I dont remmember even making any service calls!? If I was in danger of being billed almost 2 hundred dollars in finance charges then why did the bill before this one say that I WAS ONLY DUE TO PAY A MINIMUM AMOUNT OF 20 DOLLARS!?! Was Dell deliberately trying to mislead me so that they could hit me with a 196.86 bill!? What I had to do was go ahead and pay off the rest of the bill—which is what I could have done a long time ago had I known about this scheme. A Dell rep did eventually get back to me and told me there was nothing that they were going to do about it because everything that I was supposed to know was written in thin small gray fine print that was hidden on the BACK of the bill. Please help.

Dell lies to avoid refund.

I purchased a computer from Dell. 20 days after invoice the hard drive when bad. Dell agrees. Sent new hard drive. When I realized I was going to lose all my data I requested a full refund. Dell offered, instead, to give new HD and pay to have my data restored. NOW they are refusing. They agree I was offered the payment but now refuse to give it and say I am not passed the deadline to get a full refund. I got an American English speaking operator FROM DELL on the phone and she "rode" with me through several layers of different departments. I think SHE was shocked at the run around and spin that I got.
