Dell 90W AC Adaptor cannot be regognized

I own a a Dell inspiron 9300 -- I am on my second 90W-AC power adaptor -- I was on a business trip and suddenly the computer no longer "recornizes" the power adaptor and will not charge the battery. I read on the net they put some kone od chip in the adaptor to recognize the computer adaptor match -- now the portability of the laptop is useless -- it will not charge the battery -- likely I have to buy a third adaptor -- why doesn't my computer "recognize" that the chip failed and send a message to deal to send my another one? -- Dell you suck.

Dell does not honor their warranty

One week after delivery of a computer from Dell Direct, the hard drive went bad. Dell agreed that it was defective and sent out a technician to install a new hard drive. Nothing has worked correctly since. Dell refuses to refund money or replace the defective computer. I've spent hours talking to people around the world who do not know what they are talking about. They treat me like I'm *** and some are downright nasty. I've got some of the logs from chats with Dell and it's laughable. Their technical personnel act like they are from another planet. I cannot put the computer on standby - it goes into power save mode and cannot be turned on or turned off. Now the case is turned over to someone in India who says he will call me on Sunday and my whole system will be reinstalled - probably by me. I did not pay almost $1000 for a computer to have to reinstall the system and spend hours of my time getting a terrible product to work. I will never purchase another Dell product. Their techical service is a joke and their computers are junk - unlike their computers of the past.

I completely agree with you, I had the same problem with my computer, but I think that I was more patience on that, but I wont buy DELL anymore.

I had a problem with my computer, and as you said, they just sent new part and new parts, and the computer still having the same problem, some parts were replace twice and some three times, but the most *** thing was that a technitian came one day to replace the motherboard, and another one came back the next day the replace the motherboard again... can you imagine how much time I lost!!!

Actually, the computer still having the problem, and now... finally, after two week of fight with customer care, technical support and an supervisors, they are going to replace the computer, and that will take one week to order and another week to deliver it... More than a month, so, believe me, this technical support just sucks, they lie to me several times... and actually this is not the fist time that I had problems with this computer, every time that I have a problem, probably take me about a week to solve it.

An another thing, is about the Diagnosis test, those are such an inaccurate test, because I was having problems with my fan and my harddrive, and the test still saying that everything was ok, even when I was turning on the computer says that I have a hardfrive problem, they just run the diagnosis and pass it, and they said.. the Harddrive is fine, doesn't need to replace it, after a week of complaints they finally decide to replace it, they dont ever care about the customer, or custormer thoughts, :( I think they just wanted you to give up trying to solve the problem and buy another computer... no way... I know some people doesn't complain because I was a very cheap computer, but you have to... Actually I paid more than 2000 USD for this one, but even if I pay only 700 USD I'll complaint about it.

Can you Imagine the amount of money that I lost because this computer is not working for more than 2 weeks and I still dont have a solution, cuz I have to wait two weeks more to receive the new one?, I can even buy a new one, yeah... but that one will be an apple.

My advice is... if you are going to use your computer for work, never, but never buy a DELL, even if you are under the business program, mine one was under the business program, because I used to have one in the home and office program but it takes a lot of time to solve the problems, so this one I bought it under the business program and still taking the same time to solve a problem: FOREVER.

So, don't buy it if you are planning to use for business, cuz you never know how long that will take to solve the problem and how much time you will spend taking in the phone (pretty much is like 95% waiting for somebody to help and 1% saying you information that at the end of the day the guy in the phone will ask always the information that you put in the phone, and 3% transfering to one department to another, and NOBODY will help you!!!).

So, if you paid 2000 uss for a laptop, at the end it cost you double for the time that you lost and the money that you lost because is not working.

But, if you are a very.... veeeeeeerrrryyyyyy... i mean super verrrryyy patient, that you can wait months for somebody to help solving a problem that you computer might have.... I'll carefully recommend a DELL because it's cheap, without taking into account the money that you will lose because the computer is not working.

I forgot this other thing, they supposed to have an history of your computer issues in the system right? But this doesn't work, because everytime that you call you have to explain the problem, and if they transfer to somebody else, that somebody will ask for the problem again, and if that guy try something to solve and doesn't work will transfer to another guy that will ask you what happend again an will try the same thing that the guy before, so... why they give you a case number... it never works... so I suggest, If you already have a dell, don't let them transfer, try to... because they will keep transferring and transferring, take that guy an dont hang up until they solve the problem, but first take all the information of the guy, cuz when they get tired, they used to hang up, and you have to start over again !!!

:( With the information of the guy that was with you in the phone, you can write back to the supervisor and complaint about it... anyways... they'll never do anything if you write a friendly letter to the surpervisor, you have to be picky with the service, and write a real letter explaining how frustrated you are with the problem and the hurry that you have to solve the problem, otherwise they never gonna put attention on the letter.

You know, I spent my whole life calling to DELL and now I have experience how they treat you and everything, so it never has to be like this... so if you need some advice, I'll be glad to assist you... (I'm starting to sound like a dell technician.. jajaj).

Inferior product not meant to last

I have a dell dimension E510 that is 2 1/2 years old and already its kaput. The screen went black on me, and i guess its a video card because the monitor led lite shows it is on and so does the cpu led. When new, i had to talk several hours to somebody in India just to get the *** thing to work. I had to plug in and unplug the ram. This is the sorriest product i have ever paid good money for. I am typing this email on a compaq computer that is now 8 years old and never had a glitch. Thank you

If that system is 8 yrs old you might as well type your next email on a typewriter, that way you can guarantee no glitches.

Dell

I ordered a Canon Rebel XSi from these jerks. Got a confirmation invoice, and waited the 3 weeks for it to ship. On my shipping date, I still hadn't been charged. What happened? They canceled the order! Why? Because they were out of stock. Then why confirm our order? Beyond that, why not let us know you canceled it, instead of making us find out on our own? Oh thats right, they don't care about their customers. Anyone surprised? Dell may be "reputable" but they're just as *** as any other company. I could have had my camera by now...

DELL CUSTOMER SERVICES - not enough words!!!

PLEASE could anyone pass onto me a BRITISH senior staff member who might actually take notice of a complaint??? I have been corresponding with their customer services dept (obviously based overseas) and am getting absolutely nowhere. It would help if any of the assistants understood English and could respond to e-mails in understandable English.......... I've had my laptop for 5 months and it keeps freezing up. I spent 2 days following instructions from a very pleasant and obviously informed Asian gentleman but as nothing seemed to rectify the problem he arranged a mutually convenient date for couriers to pick up my system from home to take in for repair. I took a day off work, waited in all day but the couriers didn't arrive. Since then I have been rung by people I cannot understand, asking me to ring them back on a 0870 number. This is a voicemail, they don't ring back. I am getting near the edge and just want my laptop sorting!!! I have been demanding the name & address of a British complaints dept but it appears to be either non-existent or secret. PLEASE HELP SOMEONE!!

I had a similar issue with Toshiba and my "Freezing Laptop". Finally I called my Credit Card company.

I informed them of the situation, and I put a dispute on the charge for the Laptop.

All of a sudden, they were willing to replace my laptop. Try going to your CC company if that is who you used to purchase the laptopn.

Dell Blocked my credit line for no apparent reason.

I have been a customer in good standing with Dell since December 2006. Up until writing this letter, I have been very satisfied with the purchases and support I have received from your company.

Recently a block has been placed on my account for no apparent reason. I have contacted your verification department, but they have been unable, and unwilling, to resolve this matter. On occasion, I have spoken to Jordan, Victor, Clyde, Ann, Dee, and Jenifer.

After several phone calls totaling five or more hours, neither person identified above was able to resolve this issue or point me to anyone that could. Instead, they insisted there was nothing they could to do to fix or resolve the block that was placed on my account.

Is this the way Dell treats its valued customers; Customer’s in good standing with a stellar payment history? As a valued customer, I am very disappointed in the way I have been treated by your staff.

I am requesting immediate resolution to this issue and a written apology for the ill-treatment I have suffered at the hands of your customer service department. Furthermore, I would not hesitate in forwarding this message to the 2000 or so email contacts in my personal address book to deliver my point.

Please believe me when I say that this is not a threat but a promise. I am mad as ***!!!!!

Same thing here. I was approved for $5000 and spent $3000 and have been paying $200/month since then.

never been late or anything and I have real good credit. I have no more credit!

Is this legal?

Guest

I had an account that I was going to use to purchase another laptop. Dell closed my account because I hadn't used it in "a year or two".

Which is it Dell??!!! Is it a year or two years before you close an account that's paid in full? And why would I continue to buy things I don't need just to keep my account open!!! My computer is still going strong, but I wanted to upgrade.

Why would I have to apply for another account?

So you can close it again!!!

I'm sorry for the long comment, but I am so mad about this, it's ridiculous.

I will NEVER buy another Dell computer again!!!!! :(

I am also going through this block on my account. I am a customer with DFS in good standing, I have a balance on the account, paid my bills on time and am now blocked from viewing my account on-line.

I recently spoke with Jordon and he gave me more of an explanation then any of the other 7 times I have called. He said that they occasionally verify users accounts. The block is not a credit issue, it has nothing to do with my past credit or current standing. Basically he said that the way the block can be removed is if I call back every now and then and have them review my account.

OR if the account is paid in full then the account would go inactive and DFS would just close the account (which just closes the account, doesn't take the block off of it.) and then if I wanted to I could reapply for the account. THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE!

Guest

they have done the same to me, I have been paying my business account on time, never late and for no reason they have bloked the account for "verification purposes", I asked them what kind of verification do you need and they dont give me an answer, I hate DELL and will never do business with them again in my life, this is not the proper way handling customers

Guest

I am having similar issue resulting from Dell arbitrarily changing the billing address shown on my account without my knowledge or consent. They did this after I received my first order, but prior to sending me first invoice.

I am curious if your issue was finally resolved with them and if you have any suggestions for those of us similarly situated. Thanks!

XPS 720 - Do They Ever Work??

My new $4200 dell computer does not work. I have spent countless hours with Dell trying to resolve the problems. Each time you call them you speak to a different person who has a different idea. I have reinstalled twice which means i have lost all my data twice, not counting the time when they replaced the hard drive which did nothing. Dell will not replace the sytem under any circumstance it seems nor will they give any timetable for replacing the further hardware. Now they do not return my attempts at contacting them. I paid extra for what i thought was a 2year at-home warrenty which i now is totally flawed.

Dell totally unresponsive to online fraud complaints!

On 1/22/08 five unauthorized charges were made to my credit card. One of these was by Dell Computer. My only recourse now is to sue Dell because the are TOTALLY unresponsive to repeated questions about this charge. The ONLY humans I can reach to talk to are in a call center somewhere on the Indian subcontinent, and they claim they can give me no information. I have left my contact information three times for their (supposed) fraud dept. to call be back. Two months, still waiting. The bank which issued the credit card has also been unable to obtain any information from Dell. My advise is.... Buyer beware, Dell doesn't care!

I have a similar situation and Dell Financial Services asked for my social security number. Other Dell numbers I called say they never ask for the social security number.

Guest

I was cheated by Dell Financial Services for a part (Laptop Battery) that I ordered in May 2008. The customer service representative asked me to switch over to the Dell Financial Services asked me to open up a credit account to get a better deal.

However, I did not receive the product and was charged for it. Also, I got a letter from Dell stating that I have a problem in my account for which the services have been declined. The Dell debt collection department kept on harassing me to pay back the money owned without spending time with me with respect to find out why I didn't receive the part. They kept on calling me with black calls from India.

Finally, I decided to pay back the amount owned along with the penalty to get rid of Dell. I have been quite surprised to know that I am not unique here.

NY state has filled a case against Dell for cheating customers by not providing them the promised services. I will not buy a product from this company any more.

LOGGING IN TO SEE MY ACCOUNT

Everytime I try to log in with my account number the message I get is that is not a valid number. I took the number off of my lay-a-way receipt for my DELL laptop computer. I send my payments in time so please help me. I am paying in good faith that I will have the computer. Please let me know what is going on. I don't want to try to buy anything else until I see how you handle this and how fast you guys send out the merchandise. Thank you very much. Debra Sue Casey

Dell xps computer fire !

I purchased a Dell xps 200 in 2006. I turned on my computer as I did every morning. I left the room and came back to find that my office was full of smoke. My Dell computer was on fire ! Dell went on to tell me that I didn't have the correct warrenty to cover a fire. I received what I was told would be a new Dell xps 210, but looking at the tags it was built in 2007. So consumer beware, please be sure to unplug your computer when not is use. If I hadn't been home, my house and animals would have been burned up.

Freaking DELL and their Customer Service

I hope these guys will go bankrupt...My story is too long to be written and I think that you will get bored anyhow. Therefore, all I can say is that I spent over 1 week and over 25 e-mails and over 10 h of my time with these INCOMPETENT ppl and they couldn't do ANYTHING about my case. I am returning the item and hopefully I will get my money back! I think I had my lesson with them and the PC world. Apple has an IMPECCABLE customer service and I should have gone first with them. Dell Printer

I received a Dell printer without the correct electrical cord. I can't get past the customer service which I assume is in India somewhere. I keep having to go back and forth with customer service who do not even read my e-mails. I get more upset with every response, which has nothing to do with my original request. I expect them to at least read my e-mails to customer service and write a reply that is related to my request for service. I think I have the right to get a printer that includes an electrical cord so it will operate. Is this too much to ask?

Dell Black Friday Scam 2007

I was Christmas shopping online on Black Friday for a gift for my Husband & being a long time customer of Dell of numerous high ticket items I was searching their site for the perfect gift 4 my Husband (TV) & came upon an ad for a Sony Bravia KDL 46inch LCD HD-TV...the page I found this on did not have an advertised price so I clicked on the "ON SALE NOW, click to see YOUR Price" which popped up "Your lowest price" $699.00. Instead of ordering online I decided to speak to a sales rep so I could confirm that this is a new product as opposed to refurbished & that the price on the ad is exactly matching the product without any hidden fees, besides shipping. I spoke to a sales rep named "Princess" I asked 4 her extension in case I had any further questions, which she gave me & after both of us making a verbal contract repeating exactly the item I was purchasing/price/addt. shipping cost/delivery time & my authorization to charge my Dell Preferred Account. Everything seemed fine until 2 weeks later when I was delivered a 26in TV...which I refused delivery stating wrong size & immediately attempted to contact the sales rep whom I made the contract with @ her "personal extension" but after speaking to Dozens of svcs reps from every continent its obvious another lie is being able to call your rep back if I have any further questions, they offered to credit my account & sell me the correct size TV with a 10% discount!!!! I demanded the correct TV for the advertised price immediately for delivery before Xmas & to honor the verbal contract made on Black Friday...which they refused although stating it was totally their fault due to a product ID error....I DON’T READ PRODUCT IDs!!!! I have spoken to Dozens of tiny cust svcs reps from all countries, wasted many hours of my cell phone minutes, missed an entire evening of work due to stress (I'm 8mo pregnant), I have all the paperwork (incld. the fake ad which enticed me to make a purchase) and even recorded a couple stressful conversations with svcs reps admitting Dell’s fault!!!! I am a long standing customer of Dell with Many high ticket purchases, I make above the min monthly pmnt and this is the treatment I get....A SCAM! I honestly did not want this matter to escalade to court & the Media...but that is Exactly where this is going if I do not receive satisfaction in this matter…the resolution to Dell’s shameful scam is to simply, Immediately Express Deliver the correct Sony Bravia KDL 46 inch LCD-HD TV for delivery before Christmas & in addition to that I also deserve the APR and Finance charges to be set @ 0.00%/$0.00…with No Expiration… and $1000 credit to my account…effective immediately.

Dell computers double billed for a computer and dragging feet to give money back.

A friend of ours ordered a computer and printer and used paypal. Dell charged him twice for the computer and printer and now he's out $1,000 until they decide to reimburse him. This man was homeless and is in a wheelchair. And he will be homeless again if the money isn't returned. I was on a bank account with him and they took $600 out of my account because he was overdrawn. Michael is going to hear from our lawyer! We have also talked to the state consumer affairs. Anyone have this happen with Dell? Beware of Dell! Joanne

I had purchased a 07 honda civic in july of 2007. 62,000 Miles and only two and a half years i have a cracked block.

Coolant leaking from beneath my car caught my attention. I thought it might be a loose hose or even cracked. 45 minutes later after having the dealership look under the hood, I have an estimate of 4,568.98$!! They said the enging block had a crack and was in need of a replacement.

How can this be?!

Then come to realize that im not the only one. Can we please discuss this issue.
