Dell in Cleveland, Ohio - TOTALLY PISSED OFF

First of all I am not one to complain especially online but DELL has truly pissed me off. I ordered a laptop for my son to take to college and was trying to use a $79.00 promotional gift card. After reviewing the order the next day I realized the DELL PROMOTIONAL GIFT CARD was not applied. Now I also need to mention that I got the card because of a previous order that they also screwed up. I guess this was their way of getting me back in their good graces. So of course I called hoping that this might be a 5-10 minute call. NO....it was only after 45 minutes, 2 disconnects, 4 transfers and 1 person that I could understand that I was able to end the call. Mind you I said , "end the call", in other words not totally resolved. After being on hold for about 10 minutes I was told that the card could not be applied even though they could see where I tried to submit it. So they will give me a $50.00 credit and I can use the card for another purchase. So financially I am ahead because I just got an extra $50.00. But in order to have the $50.00 applied I have to call back when I receive the laptop. Now what kind of since does that make...Really DELL. This is a company dealing with technology 24x7 and I have to call back. I am sure it is their hope that I forget and not call back. So in two weeks or so I have to call back be disconnected, transferred, and have rude customer service Rep's pissed off at me because I cannot understand them and have to ask them to repeat what they said. This is my last time buying a DELL product, except I will use my $79.00 gift card. I have purchased 5 laptops in the past 2 years enough is enough. All I ask is that DELL offers proper training and if the applicant cannot speak clearly then don't hire them. Part of the job is to be able to COMMUNICATE. Oh and not be lazy at your job. Instead of trying to find out how to apply the credit, one representative suggest I buy more extended warranty. After I told him I already have that he proceeded to transfer me instead of doing his job. Some companies get so big that they just care about the money. Remember as a consumer we do have choices. DELL needs to realize it was our spending power that made them what they are and we can take it away.

I am curious as to why it is Dell\'s fault that you failed to properly write down the number needed to access your upgrade.

Dell sells products that will not run and knows it

I bought a Dell Inspiron and had it for 3 weeks. It locked up and would not boot. After an Hour with dell support on the phone nothing was done. I was not asked to turn on the PC, turn it over, take the battery out...NOTHING. The only thing I was told was that I have a virus and only Dell could fix it. The tech went on to tell me I needed to buy all this different software and parts to fix it. The total came to as much as I paid for the pc in the first place. I hung up frustrated. After thinking about it, I tried to Boot the pc again and in doing so I pressed F2 and there....BIG AS LIFE was the problem.....You see, Dell has 256 memory bank in the Dell inspiron....But here's the kicker, Dell pre-loads the software for Windows 7...In the set-up it states CLEARLY... NOTE* This computer has 256 memory and it is not enough to run the programs downloaded. DELL KNOWS THIS AND IS ALLOWING FAULTY PRODUCT TO BE SOLD TO THE CONSUMERS AND THEN WANT TO SELL MORE SOFTWARE TO BE RUN ON A COMPUTER THAT CAN NOT RUN IT. And to Boot...they tell you you have a virus...YEA....THEIR OWN CREATED VIRUS. My conversation was recorded by Dell to insure quality...I'm sure they have the tape.
